Skating instead to running
It's been cold in T.O. for a little while. So running outdoors hasn't been high on my list of things to do. I've done a few sessions on the bike inside, but today was one of those cold winter days, when the sun is shinning that just screams at you to get outside.
I've mentioned Grenadier Pond before, but that was mainly an exercise to see how one posts a photo to a blog. Today I went down there because it's been frozen over for a good two weeks, and people were out skating last weekend. I took my skates and glided around the pond for a good 40 minutes.
Awesome!!!
There was a little snow last night, so there were all these little wind-swept snow drifts that you could power your way through. Powder-skating is what I call it.
Say what you will about the winter and the cold, but damn it can be fun.
