I've made some progress

Let's see...

Today is Monday.

On Saturday I got out for a good 30+ minute run around and through High Park. It was beautiful early spring day. The sun blazed down and reflected off the snow to really light up the park. A good portion of this run was over loose, slushy snow and my legs paid for on Sunday. I was surprisingly sore.

Today I got out and did my Windemere Loop (4km) again, and I pulled it off in 20:06.00. Fastest yet, and right were I want to be (5 min kilometers).

So with a small amount of pride I sign off and go wash my stinky gear.

Got back out there again

Today I went for a longer run. It's been cold with a lot of snow in Toronto, so I haven't been getting out as often as I should, but I went for 27 minutes and felt good about that.

Peter Hadzipetros' latest column

CBC Sports Online: Viewpoint: Peter Hadzipetros: Back of the Pack

This latest column discusses the perils of over-training. Certainly not something I'm worried about.

But a 105k in one week indoors seems a little nuts. I mean around and around and around...

Not for me thanks.

Another one...

I ran the Windemere Loop (4k) again on Sunday Feb. 13th (I always seem to post a day after the event). Any ways.

Windemere Loop (4K): 20:44.61

I struggled through this run. I never felt comfortable.

I know that I have to get out on some longer, gentler runs to build up my cardio base and then this somewhat hilly 4K will be a breeze.

This past week

Let's see...

Sunday Feb. 6th: 30 minutes on the stationary bike.
Tuesday Feb. 8th: A day of downhill skiing up at Blue Mountian (which was honestly a little bit of a waste of time, but the tickets were free)
Thursday Feb. 10th: Windemere Loop 4K: 20:39.35

Not a bad week, but I'll have to get out there on Saturday.
